We drove by the Wal Mart lot at 12:15. Guess what? you guessed it. It was over flowing with cars.

Bill took this picture last night at the Target entrance. It was just crazy.

At least it wasn't freezing cold like a couple of years ago.

Anyway, we are heading back today.

Sorry , I didn't get to take a lot of pictures of Jack's first Craft show. It was me. Yep! I forgot to put in the memory card.
Luckily my husband brought something i-handy with him. Saved me once again !

I thought it was a great success for his first Craft show ever.

He and Christina made a great team.
Although, Christina was already an experienced craft seller helper, so I guess Jack was lucky to have her by his side the whole time.

It was great to see them in action from the distance. They were awesome.

Funny, Jack is already thinking about the next year show. The Business man is born !

Today we went to the Sauerkraut Festival.
It was our first time visit to the festival. I heard they were expecting over 35,000 visitors but WOW! I didn't believe it. It was like a river of people. Sorry, I had my camera ready to take a lot of pictures for you but it was hard for us to stop and look around. Christina was the only one who was fast enough to get in the booth and find things she love.
She got the Ickebadika bird from Claudia's shop. What a wonderful craftsmanship.
The Ickebadiak bird comes with a sweet story to tell you. Christina picked The Green stripy one for herself. She hadn't named him yet but it will be a good one.
And we got to visit The Go jump in the lake shop and Ellembee shop.
It's always great to see our fellow etsyans in action. Go ETSY!
I'm not sure if I want to go back next year........ I think I need a good pair of walking shoes if I do.

You should been there. WOW. We had so much fun.

It was bit cold and gloomy this morning but by the time we got there the sun came out for us :-)

Kara's farm house was so beautiful.

Century old aged red bricks with black shutters.

It was a gorgeous setting for a event. Excellent choice.

There were so many neat and pretty things for everyone. The homemade soaps, baked goods, preserves, McMaster and Storm's stunning tent display of yummy things from big wooden table to tiny tags.

It was great to be there today. It was perfect.

I believe Christina spent all of her savings today.

Hope they have the event next year too. If they don't I will be very disappointed.

Awesome job ladies!

It's always fun to find a new store and make a visit. I didn't know if we had such a great Japanese store near by. Tensuke market. It is located in northern Columbus. The store was perfect for me. They had all kinds of things that I wanted but I had a hole in my pocket so I couldn't bring everything that I wanted :-(

I took some pictures of things that my kids picked out from the store.

Can you guess who picked out what?

It's fun to see how different they are.

I still don't know why Christina needs 4 sets of chopsticks and why jack needs a Japanese kitchen knife. Don't get me wrong, he is an excellent cook. He loves to cook a variety of dishes for us every Friday night but somehow it always makes me nervous to watch him when he uses sharp things even if he is 16 year old man.

Hopefully practice will make him better with HIS new knife.

You have No idea how lucky I am. My mother in law is the best cook ever!
She brought me the Kong gook su for me to taste today. Kong gook su is cold soybean noodle soup that is made with grounded soybean soup and cooked Japanese somen noodle. It's a great dish for a hot summer day.
Hmmm. I think I will have one more serving. I'm sure it's OK to have two servings of noodles before dinner time right?
I guess We just have to have a late dinner tonight.

What a weekend it was!
We had an awesome time at the Mid-Ohio racing track in Lexington ,Ohio last weekend.
It all started about 16 years ago, My hubby fell in love with auto racing. It has been great experience ever since. It became our family's must things to do list in every summer.
I think Christina had the most fun. She was very excited about getting all the driver's autographs this time. Guess what? She got 27 drivers' autograph.
I wasn't so sure while we were all standing under the brazing sun and waiting for almost two hours for autograph session to start each time for two days but it was worth the wait when we saw Christina's face. She was super happy.
Some drivers were very nice and Danica said she even remembered Christina. Unbelievable!
I was glad to see Simona seemed to be doing great after her accident too.
We can't wait to go back next year, it is going to awesome!

It was time! I used some of the scrap linens that I got from Marnie. They are Irish linens and they are gorgeous. Lovely colors, texture and smell. Yes, I like the smell of the linen. Hope they can last a long time for me to cherish them......

blueberry french toast sandwich

1 3 oz package cream cheese, softened

1- 1/2 tbl confectioner sugar

1 package (12 oz) frozen french toast slices

3/4 cup fresh blueberries

In a small bowl mix cream cheese and sugar. Set aside.

Heat french toast according to directions. Spread cream cheese on one side of bread, add blueberries, top with other slice. Garnish with extra blueberries and confectioner sugar if desired.

all you need is 8oz Mascarpone cheese + 2 cups mixed fresh berries + Vanilla ice cream
Pour 2C mixed berries in the baking dish, drop 8oz Mascarpone cheese on top and bake at 425'F for 10 minutes.

Don't you just love antique shows?

We had a chance to go last Saturday. there was one antique show near our home.

It's was a very hot but regard the temperature we had a great time.

I guess I had a great time.

Love to see things and feel old stuff and think about when they've been loved and cherished by others when they were new.
We got to acquire few things for ourselves.
yard stick, books dated back to 1902, fabric hankies, wooden shoe form, old tin kitchen things.....
Christina was great at finding things too. She found old puppy salt and pepper shaker, some old beanie babies......

I'm so glad we went.

I have been storing my accessories in a wooden box that I got from Target for last few years. It's a pretty box but it wasn't working so good as a jewelry box. My necklaces are always getting tangled inside a box. I'm not sure how that happens. It's like someone had given it a good SHAKE every time when I open it. It's a great mystery. Dust fairy? It was time to do something about it. So I made these embroidery frame boards for our jewelries. I think it looks great and works very well for me and Christina's necklaces and bracelets.

I think it turned out rather well. I think I deserve a pat on my back. Don't you think?

OMG It's been over two months since our last blog.

I don't know how it happened. I promise, It won't happen again. Cross my fingers !

Like, you see I wasn't just sitting on the couch eating chips and watching TV all day for the last few months. I managed to make somethings for our shop like a good girl should do. These are the same design as the KINOU small pouch but I add some distressed leather for a cover. What do you think? I think it will be great for both women and men.

Carrying matching pouches with your partner will be a great idea for this summer travel season.

Last Christmas I got this book from my brother as a christmas gift.

This year I finally tackled it - in a way!?

I always admired these animals so I decided to put them into work.

We have a handful of old Christmas ornaments at home.

They are my hubbie's . He said he had them since he was a little kid.

Yes, they are pretty old.

So last Chritmas we got a small Christmas tree just for these ornaments.

I thought special three skirt will be suitable for special things.

About a week ago when my sister was visiting.

We made this ginger bread village with her.

We got the kit at the Target.

It was Christina's first ginger bread house ever.

Christina decorated the big house on the top and my sister decorated the Santa's sled.

A couple of pieces were broken and the roof of the house of sliding sideways but we had so much fun.
I know it didn't look perfect but it was AWESOME to our eyes.

Yesterday, I got a surprise package from my little sis who lives in N.Y.

She sent me MACAROONs!

Tell you the truth, I never had one before. I couldn't find who sells them around here. Yes, I thought about making one but I got discouraged just looking at the recipe. But not any more. I got my Macaroons.

I'm happy as a bird.

I think this morning is the GOOD morning.

I was going to tell you about them but I kept forgetting since last month. You see my boy Jack(who is in love of Origami) is always making something in his room when he has free time. When he started he made mostly animals but as he got older, he moved to shapes.

I don't know how he can do it so quickly without any efforts.

It's always fun to go in his room and look around his origami creations.

Yesterday we had our fist snow of the season. It was around 20s so it was bit chilly but it was great to see the snow. My sister wasn't too happy about the snow because it came the day after she went back to N.Y. We had great time together during the holidays. A lot of talking, sewing, shopping and eating.

Great to catch up with her even it's only every once a year.

She wouldn't let me take a break.

It was a constant sewing one after another:

pillow cases, blankets, dolls, aprons, pajama pants, checkbook covers ........

I felt like an elf at the Santa's work shop. LOL

Jane Eyre

My hubby got this for me few days ago from our local library . I love NEW technology. Don't you? I can just plug the ear phone and start listening. It's about 17 hours long but I haven't got bored yet. Chapter 4. here I come !

I especially enjoy the movie Jane Eyre - 1943 version with Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine .

The Black and white screens make it more mysterious and suspenseful. I just love it. It's perfect for anytime. Hope you can find one and watch it today. You will love it too.

I'm sure you have been waiting for a long time and wondering what is this KINOU collection is all about.

It means yesterday in Japanese.

As I get older and facing a very big number in few months and I thought I wanted do something that I always wanted do. Create something that I like not from the shoppers perspective. I know it's not a great idea what so ever from Business point of view but I think I have been stalling long enough. I wanted create something that tells about me. Just a small girl with a tiny dream. simple life. It could be the biggest FLOP ever in Etsy history or it could bring me a smile on my face.
